Pragathi School opened the platform for 

children to get a clear idea of advantages, 

efficacy and functioning of solar panels through the guest lecture of Mr. Sreenath of G V Industries on 25^th September. Mr. Sreenath detailed on CCS, the three basic steps in harnessing solar energy, viz. collection, conversion and storage. “Just 30 days of sunshine reaching the earth is equivalent to more energy than that can be obtained from the total fossil fuel on earth”, he said. 

The children also learnt that Asia’s biggest solar farm is coming up in the Kuchh region of Gujarat. The principle of solar water heater, the physics behind silicon chips of photo voltaic panels ‘capturing‘ solar energy stimulated the children to come up with a number of questions making the session as interesting as interactive.
