Concepts of CCE pattern of education

Principal of Pragathi School conducted a very insightful workshop on 1st October, 2012 to elucidate the basic concepts of CCE pattern of education.

CCE stands for Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation, a pattern which is the basis of CBSE curriculum and now is on the verge of entering SSC curriculum as well. The 3-point basis of CCE are Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor, where cognitive maps inputs to the brain, affective maps to heart and psychomotor to hands in applying the knowledge, thus making CCE a domain of holistic learning.

She also taught the teachers how o apply the highly effective technique of Bloom’s Taxonomy for creating question papers. With the topic ‘Exploring Batteries’ she enumerated the questions based on the 6 aspects of Bloom’s pyramid, viz. knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, evaluation and creation. The workshop ended with a dynamic exercise for the teachers.

Teachers of each department came together to design a questionnaire each with any topic of their subject based on Benjamin Bloom’s Taxonomy. Our Principal reinstated the fact that teachers are there to enhance the level of understanding of their students in a non-threatening environment, keeping an earnest focus on remedial teaching so as to take education processes from need for learning to love for learning.
